What it's about

The short tour dives into the history of Hamburg's Stadtwasserkunst — among original exhibits and elaborate fountain models. It explains how Elbe water became clean drinking water, what the valve houses were used for, and what ice saws were needed for.

The tour runs daily at 11:30am and 4:15pm and offers a compact glimpse into the exhibition, perfect for a short visit.

The Wasserkunst Elbinsel Kaltehofe combines an industrial monument, nature park and exhibition: along the discovery paths between the old filter basins, visitors can also spot wildlife such as grey herons and swans.
