At EKiZ Reiherstieg, families can have breakfast together on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 am, and cook and eat a warm lunch together on Thursdays from 11 am. Around the meals there's playing, singing, laughing, and talk about the topics that matter to parents of small children. Children often try new foods for the first time.
The EKiZ sees itself as an open place for families with young children, regardless of background, income, or language skills. The team of trained educators knows the area and refers people to counseling centers, daycare spots, or language courses when needed. For families from Wilhelmsburg and the Veddel, an important meeting point with neighborly contacts and shared outings.
The entrance is on Geraer Weg, diagonally across from number 12. Easy to manage with strollers and bikes; for wheelchair users there is an alternative access route, which the team explains by phone.
