What it's about
On the farm animal safari across BioGut Bauck in the Lüneburg Heath, families get to know over 60 farm animal breeds in about two hours: prairie bison, water buffalo, steppe horses, yaks, llamas, zebus and Père David's deer live here in spacious enclosures. At the petting meadow, visitors get right up close to the animals, and the farm's wolfhounds are part of the experience too.
Instead of a classic zoo atmosphere, the safari shows farm animals from around the world and explains the role they play in agriculture. The grounds are wheelchair accessible so everyone can join. Booking is required, as tours start at fixed times.
The farm is in the Lüneburg Heath; the drive from Hamburg mostly runs along the A7. A worthwhile trip for families who love animals and enjoy wide open countryside.
And tomorrow? It's in the app.
The weekend and the holidays, too. Two weeks free.
