BioGut Bauck Nutztiersafari with kids

On the farm-animal safari at BioGut Bauck, families with children from about age four can spend two hours experiencing prairie bison, water buffalo, steppe cattle, Père David's deer, yaks, llamas and zebus in large, spacious enclosures. At the petting meadow, animals can be experienced up close, along with the farm's wolf-dogs.

Instead of a classic zoo atmosphere, BioGut showcases farm animals from around the world and explains how they're traditionally kept and what role they still play in agriculture today. The experience is designed to be accessible: for people with disabilities, tours are offered in a specially adapted vehicle, so guests using wheelchairs or walking aids can take part without any problems.

The farm is located in Bad Bodenteich in the Lüneburg Heath; the drive from Hamburg usually goes via the A7. Advance booking is recommended, since the safaris run at set times. Especially worthwhile for families who like animals and enjoy wide-open nature.
