What it's about
At the Bücherhalle Lokstedt, there is special one-on-one reading practice with Juna, a trained reading dog. It is for children aged 6 to 10.
The animal-assisted, playful approach can also help with reluctance to read. Only one child is looked after at a time, so the practice can be fully tailored. Many children find it easier to read to an animal that listens patiently.
The sessions take place every Wednesday, from 4 to 4:30 pm and from 4:30 to 5 pm. Entry is free. Because of the one-on-one format, it's worth asking the library how time slots are assigned.
