What it's about
On the public tour you explore the Energieberg Georgswerder, which has transformed from a landfill hill into a place of learning and recreation. An expert guide leads you through the exhibition "Abfall im Wandel" and then across the outdoor grounds. Along the way it's about how we deal with waste, the plant and animal life on the hill, and renewable energy.
The tour lasts around 90 minutes, starts at 1:30 pm at the information center and is free. No registration is required, so you can come by spontaneously. Only groups of eight or more are asked to register in advance by phone or email.
Because a large part of the tour takes place outdoors, weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes are worth it. In return you're rewarded with an outing of a different kind, offering a wide view over Hamburg and easy to combine with a walk across the hill.
And tomorrow? It's in the app.
The weekend and the holidays, too. Two weeks free.
