What it's about
The exhibition "Minimöbel: Stühle für Kinder" at the MK&G explores what functions a chair can have, and whether children really need one from their own point of view. On view are more than 130 historic and contemporary children's chairs from the Reinke private collection and the museum's own holdings, from folk-style high chairs and Art Nouveau and Bauhaus pieces to 1960s pop design and miniatures like the "Panton Junior".
The focus is on hands-on fun: at interactive stations, children can try things out and play, for example with an oversized building game. The Wirbel-Wichtel station is currently out of order.
The exhibition runs until November 1, 2026 and is a good fit for families who like to combine design and play.
And tomorrow? It's in the app.
The weekend and the holidays, too. Two weeks free.
