What it's about

At the central flea market of the Bücherhallen Hamburg, volunteer Medienbot*innen sell donated books and withdrawn library copies. The selection ranges from novels and paperbacks to picture books, children's books, language textbooks and foreign-language literature. There are also DVDs, Blu-ray discs, CDs and vinyl.

Each item costs one euro, and the organizers are happy to receive more. All proceeds go to the MEDIENBOTEN, the volunteer media delivery service for people with limited mobility, as well as other programs for people aged 60+. So browsing does some good too.

The flea market takes place at the Zentralbibliothek, a large public library near the main train station.
