What it's about
Learn about rural schooling and how it changed. Fascinating exhibits tell stories about everyday school life going back to the 19th century. Get to know village school life over the past 200 years. At the heart of the special exhibition "Of Quills and Slide Rules: School Stories, Past, Present and Future" is Christine Strüfing's extensive village school collection. The former head teacher of the primary school in Felm collected objects for over 60 years, such as school desks, school wall charts, school satchels and teaching aids from lessons. Using the exhibits, the exhibition tells stories about village school life over the past 200 years. The exhibition is supported by the VGH Foundation, the Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude Foundation and the museum's friends' association. Around the school exhibition: Guided tours Sun 6 Sept, 2 pm · Tue 20 Oct, 2 pm · Thu 22 Oct, 2 pm · Sun 25 Oct, 2 pm.
