What it's about
The tour includes a detailed walk around the grounds of the Hamburg Observatory in Bergedorf, plus a visit to the historic telescope domes and the main building with its historic library. You will learn interesting things about the observatory's history, general astronomy questions and current research. Questions are explicitly welcome.
The tour lasts about 90 minutes, is held in German and is suitable for children from about 6 years. Since much of the tour is outdoors and through unheated rooms, dress for the weather. The historic dome buildings are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Individual visitors do not need to register in advance; admission is paid in cash at the start.
Observations through the telescopes are only possible after dark, during an observation evening.
And tomorrow? It's in the app.
The weekend and the holidays, too. Two weeks free.
