What it's about

Using a block editor, kids solve small tasks and get a first look at how a program is built and how a computer "thinks." In the end, they program a simple game, steer their characters across the screen and decide what happens when they meet.

There's also a website for continuing to tinker after the course. The workshop at Grundschule Bramfeld is for primary school students. Registration is by email in advance, with the parents' name and phone number. The meeting point is the large sign with the school logo in front of the main entrance.

This workshop is part of Code Week Hamburg, which is run by the Körber-Stiftung and the Bücherhallen Hamburg libraries and brings together many hands-on programming and tinkering activities in October.
