What it's about
Fruit-growing master Hein Lühs guides a one-hour walk around Herzapfelhof. Along the way, you get insights into life on the organic fruit farm: growing, sorting, storing and marketing the fruit. Hein Lühs introduces various apple varieties and talks about current developments in fruit growing.
A visit to the Herz-Apfel-Garten with over 250 apple varieties is also part of the programme — fascinating for anyone who's only known apples from the supermarket shelf.
The Lühs family's fruit farm in Osterjork has been run organically and biodynamically since 2012 and is known for its heart-marked apples. The farm shop sells seasonal fruit and apple juice, and the farm café serves coffee and cake with seating both indoors and in the Herz-Apfel-Garten.
