Herzapfelhof Lühs with kids

The Lühs family's fruit farm in Osterjork has been farmed biodynamically (Demeter-certified) since 2012 and is known for its apples stamped with a heart. The farm shop sells seasonal fruit, apple juice, jams and gift boxes; the farm café serves sheet cake, coffee and apple juice daily from 10am, with seating indoors, under the awning, and outside in the Herz-Apfel-Garten. From mid-August to mid- or late October, families can pick their own apples daily; baskets and hand carts are provided free of charge and tasting is allowed. In summer there are cherries to snack on and plums for self-picking. From April to October, public tours run weekly, including the roughly 90-minute Apfelexpress ride on Sundays at 10:30am, seated in crates towed behind a tractor, which requires one accompanying adult per crate. The website does not mention a playground.
