What does autumn sound like, which colors glow among leaves and branches, what shapes and patterns can we discover in the forest? Together with illustrator Laura Münker, kids head out with pencil and sketchbook on a discovery tour through Jenischpark — observing plants, gathering impressions, and exploring nature's colors and shapes.
Back at the Kinderbuchhaus, the kids turn their finds into their own books: designing pages, developing stories, experimenting with drawing, text and collage, and designing a cover. In the end, many unique books emerge to take home, plus one shared book made by the whole group. The holiday workshop runs over three days for children age 8 and up, and is free.
Otherwise, the Kinderbuchhaus at the Altonaer Museum shows changing exhibitions of original illustrations from children's books.
