What it's about
The farm animal safari takes you for two hours through BioGut Bauck in the Lüneburger Heide. Over 60 farm animal breeds can be seen here, from prairie bison and water buffalo to steppe horses and yaks, plus llamas, zebu and Père David's deer. At the petting meadow, families get up close to the animals, including the farm's wolfhounds.
Instead of a classic zoo feel, BioGut shows farm animals from around the world and explains how they are kept. The experience is fully accessible and especially suited to families who love animals and wide-open nature. Booking is required.
The farm is in Bad Bodenteich in the Lüneburger Heide; the drive from Hamburg usually runs via the A7.
