What it's about
On this roughly two-hour farm animal safari across BioGut Bauck in the Lüneburg Heath, families discover more than 60 different farm animal breeds from around the world. The spacious enclosures are home to prairie bison, water buffalo, steppe horses, yaks, llamas, zebus and Père David's deer. In the petting meadow, children get really close to the animals, and the farm's wolfhounds are part of the tour too.
The safari is especially worthwhile for animal-loving families who enjoy being outdoors and want to experience farm animals beyond the classic zoo. The grounds are wheelchair accessible, so guests in wheelchairs or with walking aids can take part without problems. Sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended, as the tour takes place mostly outdoors. Booking in advance is required, since safaris start at fixed times.
