What it's about
At the garden know-how activity When Fruit Sprouts, children ages 6 to 12 try, together with Helge Masch, to get the seeds of tropical fruits to sprout. First the tasty fruits are nibbled and the seeds harvested, then the children sow their own seeds in the greenhouse of the Botanischer Sondergarten Wandsbek and place them in the propagation bed. After successful germination, the children may take their plants home to care for them further.
Besides the technique of proper sowing, the children also learn how the seeds form and why the bananas from the shop have no seeds. Please bring seeds from tropical fruits bought at the grocery store. The session takes place outdoors; a donation of two euros per person is requested, children are free. Registration is required.
And tomorrow? It's in the app.
The weekend and the holidays, too. Two weeks free.
