What it's about
According to legend, the race between the hare and the hedgehog takes place on the heath near Buxtehude. Until January 31, 2027, the Buxtehude Museum shows how the fairy tale has been retold again and again since the 19th century: with book illustrations, sketches, film documents, photographs and board games. From October 2, 2026, a PLAYMOBIL diorama by artist Oliver Schaffer will also be on display — on October 1 you can watch him build it. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 6pm; children and teens under 18 get free admission, adults pay €6.
And tomorrow? It's in the app.
The weekend and the holidays, too. Two weeks free.
