Good to know
At the Wilhelmsburger Inselpark, families can try mini football, Viking chess, boules, badminton, disc golf and hobby horsing in the free ParkSport program. Trained ParkSport pilots bring the equipment and give instructions if something is unfamiliar. No registration is needed; just drop by and join in.
The park is interesting for families because it works with no effort: a child tries a new sport, a parent watches, or the whole family plays together. Around it are playgrounds, meadows, water areas, a swimming pool (Inselparkbad), a climbing hall and a high ropes course nearby. Kids can bike, ride balance bikes or skate.
The park is a few minutes' walk from S-Bahn Wilhelmsburg and can fill a whole day in good weather. It was created for the International Garden Show 2013.
