Good to know

Families visiting Wildpark Eekholt can see otters, pine martens, foxes, badgers, stone martens, and wolves in spacious enclosures. Public feedings with expert commentary take place during the day — the otters are especially active and popular. Wolf feedings also draw large crowds.

A highlight is the falconry flight show, held daily from March to October at 11:30 am, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm, featuring buzzards, falcons, and owls, often flying right over the audience's heads. There's also a large playground area, handcarts to borrow, and special events such as autumn's Dunkel-Munkel nights, the deer rut, or Vikings at Eekholt on Ascension Day with camps, mock battles, and crafts. Children's birthday parties are available.

The park covers 67 hectares of forest and is about an hour's drive from Hamburg. Dogs on leash welcome, with the Kiek-ut-Stuben restaurant plus a kiosk and grill areas on site. Open year-round, accessible via the A7 with ample parking.
