Urbaneo – Junges Architektur Zentrum with kids

At Urbaneo in HafenCity, everything revolves around architecture and urban planning — hands-on and made to explore. In the building room, whole city visions take shape out of interlocking bricks; in the workshops, kids glue, connect, and screw together their own designs and prototypes. In the sandbox, children model houses and their surroundings out of kinetic sand, in the stop-motion studio they shoot their own animated films, and at the VR station they soar over Hamburg from a bird's-eye view. There are also shape and color games about city and architecture, plus the "Aquarium," a workshop and quiet room with a harbor view.

The offering is aimed mainly at primary-school children and teens; children up to age 4 get free admission. Open Monday and Friday afternoons as well as weekends and public holidays; closed Tuesday through Thursday. A café, changing room, and quiet retreat areas are available, and there are also holiday workshops and birthday packages.
