Good to know
On the Überseeboulevard, families can stroll car-free, pause at fountains, and regularly visit flea markets and festivals. Especially well known is the Langschläfer flea market, held several times a year on Saturdays, which turns the entire promenade into a bustling zone of stalls selling clothing, toys, household goods, and food. Seasonal festivals, street music, and smaller events round things out.
The pedestrian axis between Überseequartier and Magellan-Terrassen is the central spine of HafenCity, lined with restaurants, cafes, and small shops. With kids, the walk combines well with Magdeburger Hafen, Marco-Polo-Terrasse, or the nearby International Maritime Museum.
The Überseequartier, Baumwall, and HafenCity Universität U-Bahn stations are all within walking distance. Parking is expensive and scarce — public transit or bike is more relaxed.
