Tierpark Hagenbeck with kids

The Tierpark Hagenbeck in Stellingen shows over 1,400 animals from more than 500 species on 19 hectares, including the elephant herd as well as walruses and polar bears in the Eismeer (Arctic Ocean). In the Haustierrevier (pet area) live goats and sheep, and by the restaurant at the playground there is a large adventure playground. Next door, the Tropen-Aquarium shows a rainforest, a cave world and a shark atoll.

Children under 4 are free, children aged 4 to 16 pay 19 euros, and adults 29 euros. The family ticket for two adults and two children costs 79 euros, or 130 euros with the aquarium. There are public feedings every day, for example at 2 pm at the elephants. The LI-Zooschule offers family tours, children's birthdays and holiday programs from age 6.

Until October 24 the park is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm, and from October 25 until 4:30 pm, with last admission one hour before closing. The U2 stops at the Hagenbecks Tierpark station. Strollers are not allowed in the Tropen-Aquarium, but baby carriers can be borrowed. Dogs are not allowed in the park.
