The English Theatre with kids

Since 1976, the English Theatre of Hamburg has been bringing plays in their original English language to Hamburg — performed by British actors specially engaged from London. The auditorium on the first floor of the Hammonia Bad building at Lerchenfeld has 160 seats with raked rows and good sightlines from everywhere. For families, the venue is especially interesting for teenagers: schools have long used the theatre to experience spoken English live. There are free teaching materials for every production, study guides, talks with the director and cast, plus discounts for pupils and students up to age 27 and school groups of 10 or more. The evening program is aimed at adults and older pupils; the venue is less suited to young children. Getting there: U3 Mundsburg.
