Spielhaus Speckenreye with kids

At Spielhaus Speckenreye, parents with children aged 0 to 6 meet in the mornings — here people play, have breakfast, and chat, with pedagogical staff available in the background. From 2 pm, schoolchildren aged 5 to 14 take over without their parents. The house is divided into three areas: playroom, movement room, and workshop — so quiet crafting afternoons are possible just as much as wilder romping sessions.

For many families in the neighborhood, the morning offering is the first regular meeting point outside their own four walls and a good way to get to know other parents nearby. The pedagogical philosophy centers on acceptance and peaceful coexistence — in a district with many families of different backgrounds, the house functions as a meeting place.

Open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Free and without registration. Special programs with outings and project weeks during school holidays. One of the city's long-established open children's leisure facilities, since 1975.
