Good to know
At Mintforum, children and teenagers take part in talks, workshops, and hands-on formats on math, computer science, natural sciences, and technology. Some sessions run as a talk with discussion, others as a workshop where children measure, experiment, and build themselves. A regular format is the Science Cafés of the DESY research center, where scientists present current topics like clouds, rain, or asteroid research in an accessible way — from grade 7 and for adults.
Families find offerings in the calendar that suit shared afternoons when a child is especially curious about astronomy, weather, or technology at the moment. Anyone interested in natural science gets a good introduction to Hamburg's research landscape and gets to know institutions that otherwise tend to work in the background.
Event venues vary depending on the cooperation partner — sometimes a lecture hall, sometimes a research center. Dates are listed on the online calendar.
