Schloss Ahrensburg with kids

At Schloss Ahrensburg, families join family tours tailored to children between four and fourteen. The guides vividly tell of everyday life at the castle, of servants and nobility, and of the fashion, food and games of earlier times. There are also activities for International Museum Day, a summer cinema and readings in the summer months.

The white Renaissance moated castle with four corner towers is reflected in the moat and sits in a well-kept park. Inside you can see furniture, portraits, wallpaper and personal belongings from the 16th to 19th centuries, plus a vaulted cellar. For families, the park around the castle is handy for strolling, for a picnic and as a photo spot at the bridge over the moat.

The U1 station Ahrensburg West is a few minutes' walk away. Sundays and public holidays as well as event days such as May 1 have additional opening hours.
