Good to know
In the heart of Altona, the Paul-Gerhardt parish invites children and teenagers to regular group activities. Especially unusual: the climbing group, where children and teenagers climb the church tower under expert supervision on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:00pm — free of charge, donations welcome, registration required. On Mondays, the scouts (age 8 and up) meet at Luthergarten (Holstenkamp 87). For older kids there's a youth band (ages 13–25), the YouGo youth service, confirmation classes with a camp on Sylt, and team leader training from age 14. The church office is reachable Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons.
