Good to know
At Opernloft, families with school-age children or teenagers can experience a first opera visit: Carmen, La Traviata, Tosca or Romeo and Juliet run compactly in about 90 minutes without intermission and are sung in German. There are also distinctive formats like crime operas, football operas and opera slams. The audience often sits right in the middle, sometimes around the stage, which brings the singers very close to the audience.
The compact format makes opera bearable for young viewers too, without fatigue and with full focus on music, story and performance. The space is not a classic theater hall but a former workshop with loft character.
The ferry terminal in Neumühlen sits right on the Elbe; from the foyer the view opens onto the water, and before or after the performance you can linger on the Elbterrasse. Access by ferry line 62, bus or car. Book tickets early, as the small space is often sold out.
And tomorrow? It's in the app.
The weekend and the holidays, too. Two weeks free.
