Museumsdorf Volksdorf with kids

At the Museumsdorf Volksdorf, children can wander between thatched half-timbered farmsteads, watch ducks and other animals, and run around on the meadows. Old tools, a well and a bakehouse give a sense of everyday rural work. On weekends, Emmis Krämerladen opens with old wares and sweets, and the Kaffeehus invites visitors in for cake.

The grounds are freely accessible Tuesday to Sunday. The interiors can only be viewed by guided tour; QR codes on the houses deliver background information to your smartphone. On event days, craft demonstrations and seasonal festivals are added.

The village is well suited to relaxed afternoons in the fresh air with a bit of history along the way. The Volksdorf U-Bahn station is right next door, and the neighborhood's cafés invite a stroll afterward.
