Every autumn, the City of Hamburg collects the lantern parades held in its neighborhoods on hamburg.de. They include parades organized by shooting clubs, housing cooperatives, neighborhood associations and the Museumsdorf Volksdorf, often led by a marching band, fireworks or a Martinsreiter (a rider portraying St. Martin). For each parade, the page lists the date and meeting point, and usually the route and refreshments as well. The list is updated continually throughout the season. Joining in is generally free; you bring your own lantern.
