Good to know
Kulturpunkt im Basch brings music, dance, theater, and literature to Barmbek-Süd. It's run by Kulturhaus Dehnhaide e.V., founded in 1988 and based since January 2010 on Wohldorfer Straße 30 — in Barmbek°Basch, Hamburg's first community center, which the association co-founded. Participatory culture is a priority: courses, workshops, readings, and concerts are aimed at all generations. Especially nice for families: the ELFI baby concerts for babies up to one year old, exhibition projects with daycare children, the MixedMedia workshop for children and teenagers, and the flea market with neighborhood meetup on the first Sunday of every month from 10am to 3pm — outdoors in summer, indoors otherwise.
