Kita Dortmunder Straße with kids

At Kita Dortmunder Strasse, children with and without disabilities are cared for together, from eight weeks old through kindergarten age, in full-day care. The outdoor area is spacious and offers room for movement, retreat, and free play. Language support runs through everyday life as a fixed component, integrated into rituals, conversations, and shared activities - fitting for a neighborhood with many multilingual families.

Meals are cooked fresh and child-friendly in the in-house kitchen. Attached is a parent-child center with affordable lunches, parenting counseling, movement activities, and regular conversations with educators - funded by the City of Hamburg and deliberately low-threshold. For many families, the EKiZ is the first contact with the facility.

The location, about a ten-minute walk from the Ochsenzoll U-Bahn station, is practical for everyday life. External evaluation by EKTIMO 2022 and ISTA 2018.
