Good to know
At Kita An der Falkenbek, children from creche age through school age spend a lot of time outdoors: the outdoor area, renovated in 2016, offers climbing and slide elements as well as areas for free play, and regular outings lead into the adjoining forest. An in-house kitchen provides varied meals, and seasonal projects and festivals are part of the rhythm.
Pedagogically, language holds a high priority, with preschool elements integrated into daily life every day. The work follows Hamburg's education recommendations without making everyday life feel like school. Attached to the daycare is a parent-child center (EKiZ) for families with children without a regular care place.
Open Mon-Thu 6 a.m.-6 p.m., Fri 6 a.m.-5 p.m. External evaluation by ektimo 2019. For families in Neugraben, Fischbek, and Hausbruch, a quiet, nature-close place for children who need lots of space and a seasonal rhythm.
