Good to know

On the HoheLuftschiff, children from about three years old can experience plays aboard a boat. Productions such as Ela und der große, böse, schrecklich kleine Wolf or Drei dicke Freunde run 40 to 60 minutes and are deliberately designed as a first theater experience, short and accessible. Puppet theater, live music, and plenty of imagination shape the program. The water occasionally slaps audibly against the hull during the performance.

The boat is moored at the Kaiser-Friedrich-Ufer in Hoheluft, where the Isebek canal begins, and serves as both stage and auditorium at once. Performances are put on by the HoheLuftschiff collective and the Theater Zeppelin ensemble. Morning shows are also offered for daycare and school groups. Because seating is limited, early booking is advisable.

Access is via a gangway onto the boat; strollers are left on land. The Hoheluftbrücke and Christuskirche U-Bahn stations are nearby, and a walk along the Isebek canal makes a good addition to the visit.
