At Hoftheater Ottensen, children from age four can experience plays such as Aschenputtel or Ich wehr mich. The hall seats around 80, which makes performances feel very personal: children sit close to the stage, and many productions play with direct contact with the audience. Classics and new adaptations sit side by side on the programme, aimed at primary-school and early-teen age groups.
The venue is run by the Norddeutsches Tourneetheater and the Kindertheater Wackelzahn. Mornings are usually reserved for daycare and school groups, while afternoon and weekend shows are open to families. The theater's manageable size makes it ideal for a first theater experience.
