Hansaplatz with kids

At Hansaplatz, children can run around the neo-Gothic Hansabrunnen fountain while parents sit in the surrounding cafes. On market days, the square fills with stalls where private vendors sell bric-a-brac, clothing, toys, books, and curiosities, a mix of scene, neighborhood, and urban flair thanks to its location in St. Georg.

The square is framed by Wilhelminian-era buildings and lies just a few minutes' walk from Hamburg's main train station. Cafes, restaurants, bars, and small shops line the surrounding Lange Reihe. There are no classic play features for children, but plenty of room to run and the fountain as an eye-catcher. For families, the square is mainly interesting as a stop along a city stroll.

Transport links are excellent: U1 Lohmühlenstraße and the main station are within walking distance, and buses stop right at the square. The Kunsthalle and the Alster are quickly reached on foot.
