Hamburg Airport Modellschau with kids

At the Modellschau at Hamburg Airport, children from about six years old can experience a miniature airport built at 1:500 scale. The terminal, apron, tower, taxiways, and parking positions are recreated in fine detail. During shows, the model comes to life: moving aircraft, real sounds, and thousands of lights simulate takeoffs, landings, and the transition from day to night.

During the shows, the team also tells the story of Hamburg Airport's history, making the Modellschau something of a journey through time as well. Shows run at fixed times on weekdays and weekends and need no registration. Special formats are available for birthday parties and school classes, and additional airport tours run by advance booking.

The airport is directly reachable by S-Bahn, and the Modellschau building is just a few steps from the terminal. A visit pairs well with the visitors' terrace, where real aircraft take off and land.
