Good to know
The electrum on Harburg's Schloßstraße is Hamburg's museum of electricity. Around a thousand devices from 130 years of electrical history are on display: tube radios, a black-and-white TV cabinet, candy-colored hair dryers, pop-up toasters, a Siemens dynamo and a floating frying pan. Kids discover what their grandparents' everyday life looked like, while adults find many devices from the past they remember. The museum is open only on Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm and is closed on public holidays. Every Sunday at 2 pm there is a short guided tour, which is included in the admission. Adults pay €4, and kids get in for free. Groups can book a tour outside opening hours for €60 plus admission.
