Elbe-Aktiv-Spielplatz with kids

At the Elbe-Aktiv-Spielplatz, children between 6 and 14 can build their own huts on the spacious grounds, cook over a fire, do handicrafts, ride bikes, play football, or simply hang out. There are building huts, tools, a fire pit, animals to look after, garden beds, craft areas, and classic playground equipment. The principle: self-directed everyday activity with reliable adults available in the background.

The EAS is free and requires no registration — children drop by during opening hours, join in, and leave again. A team of trained educators accompanies the afternoon. There are regular themed activities, holiday programs, and projects around animals, plants, crafts, or music. Cooking together is also part of it.

The playground has existed since 1972 and lies in the park right next to the Elbe-Einkaufszentrum, within walking distance of Klein Flottbek S-Bahn station. For families from Groß Flottbek, Osdorf, and Othmarschen it has been a fixed point of reference for decades.
