Good to know
At Die Eselei, children can lead donkeys on a rope, stroke them, and learn more about their behavior at rest stops. Before setting off there's a short introduction to handling the animals, so even families without experience feel confident along the way. The tours lead through forest and field landscapes around Hamburg at the animals' own pace.
On offer are shorter tours for families with younger children, longer walks for more experienced groups, as well as special formats such as birthday tours or team events. Dates depend on weather and season, with many offerings taking place in the warmer months. Rather than a focus on performance, the animals and nature are at the center.
Die Eselei is not a destination with fixed opening hours but a provider of guided experiences. Registration happens in advance via contact form, email, or phone, and the meeting point is shared upon booking. Sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing belong in the backpack.
