Good to know
Since 2000, City Wandsbek e.V. has worked for a lively, attractive Wandsbek center. The association brings together members from business, retail, and civil society. Especially interesting for families are the events on Wandsbeker Marktplatz: in summer, 'Like Ice and Sunshine' draws crowds with sand, palm trees, and a treasure hunt; in autumn the Wandsbeker Oktoberfest follows; and from late October to New Year, the 'Wandsbeker Winterzauber' transforms the square into a winter Christmas village with the climate-friendly Like-Ice rink (daily noon to 10pm). There's no fixed venue to visit — the dates of the individual festivals are the best reason to stop by.
