Good to know
At Cirque Bouffon, families with school-age children and up can experience a fully composed show that combines acrobatics, live music, dance, and theater. The current production, Carrousel, is devoted to the cycles of life — international performers present acts that flow into one another, accompanied by music. Rather than separate individual acts, the evening plays more like a theatrical performance.
The company is especially appealing for families whose children can enjoy longer, quieter scenes — generally from school age onward. Language plays almost no role; imagery and music carry the evening. The style differs from classic circus and feels more like a blend of variety show and theater. Under the artistic direction of French director Frederic Zipperlin, the company has been performing on European stages for over twenty years.
Performances take place in the company's own big top; venues and dates change. Hamburg has been a stop several times in recent years — when a tour is announced, it's worth checking the seating plan early, since certain shows sell out quickly.
And tomorrow? It's in the app.
