At Bürgerhaus Bornheide, families can regularly attend baby concerts, plays, hands-on activities and neighborhood festivals. Cafe OSBORN53 serves affordable lunches and cake, and the spacious car-free outdoor grounds invite kids to burn off any remaining energy after an event.
The community center is one of the largest in the city and consists of six colorful buildings housing around 20 social and cultural organizations. At its heart is a large hall with a stage for concerts, theater and family afternoons, plus smaller rooms for workshops and counseling. The program reflects the diversity of the neighborhood, from dance classes to children's stage shows to chamber concerts.
The building is largely barrier-free and accessible on one level, reachable by bus to Bornheide or Osdorfer Born. Admission to many events is low-cost or free, especially for children's and neighborhood formats. Run by the Diakonisches Werk Hamburg-West/Südholstein.
