Good to know
The Bücherhalle Winterhude is on the first floor of the Forum Winterhude shopping center at Winterhuder Marktplatz. Families will find media for all age groups there, a group room and a Library of Things with robots and sewing machines.
For children there is picture-book cinema, stories for the very youngest, a reading hour with painting, a KAPLA afternoon, the STEM series MINTerhude and a Pokémon swap meet. Several dates book out quickly. The Bücherhallen card costs 3 euros a year by direct debit for children up to age 8 and 6 euros for 9- to 17-year-olds, and is free with proof of the Bildungs- und Teilhabepaket (education and participation package).
With staff on site, the library is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 7 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm, and closed on Sundays. FlexiBib hours apply only to adults aged 18 and over with a card. The U1 station Hudtwalckerstraße is a five-minute walk away. Reading training for children complements the offering.
