Good to know

At Bücherhalle Fuhlsbüttel, kids can browse picture books, early-reader books and children's nonfiction in their own area, or curl up in cozy seating and reading nooks. Regular offerings include story time, Just Reading sessions for younger and older kids, craft workshops and creative writing activities. In robotics workshops with the small Ozobot robots, children take their first steps into programming. Kibi, the children's library mascot, regularly turns up in event series.

Borrowing is free for children and teens under 18, making the library a low-barrier offer. Parents and grandparents can also get advice on children's and young-adult literature as well as recommendation lists.

The branch is located on Ratsmühlendamm, about a 15-minute walk from Ohlsdorf station or reachable via bus line 24. A visit pairs well with a trip to the nearby Alster or Ohlsdorf Cemetery, whose park paths and old trees make for a pleasant stroll.
