Bücherhalle Eidelstedt with kids

The Bücherhalle Eidelstedt has its rooms on the ground floor of the steeedt shopping center on Alte Elbgaustraße; everything is on one level and reachable without steps. The children's library also caters to small guests with its range of media. From the Library of Things you can additionally borrow programmable robots, a sewing machine and e-book readers with the Bücherhallen card.

Every Tuesday from 4 to 5 pm volunteers from Lesewelt Hamburg read aloud to children aged 4 to 10; individual children can come without registration. There is also the RoboFriends workshop series for 6- to 15-year-olds, an escape room for ages 8 and up, the game Werewolves of Miller's Hollow for families with children aged 9 and up and a swap meet for Panini stickers and Pokémon cards. Admission is free, and registration is required for the workshops. The card costs 3 euros a year for children up to age 8.

With staff on site, the branch is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. The door is wide enough for strollers; an accessible toilet with changing facilities is on the first floor of the steeedt and reachable by elevator. Getting there: S-Bahn to Elbgaustraße, AKN to Eidelstedt Zentrum, or Metrobuses 4 and 21 to Eidelstedter Platz.
