Good to know

At Arche Warder, families can roam an expansive site and get up close to old pig breeds, rare sheep, goats, cattle, horses and poultry. Petting areas, play spaces and food options round out the walk; the paths are laid out so that even small children can keep up easily, and accessibility is a genuine priority.

Arche Warder is Europe's largest center for rare and endangered livestock breeds, making it a calm, nature-focused alternative to a classic zoo. The park explains clearly why breed diversity matters and what role old breeds still play today. It's a great fit for anyone with kids who like animals and aren't only interested in lions and monkeys.

The park is located about an hour's drive north of Hamburg and is open all year. Opening hours are longer during Easter, summer and fall school holidays, and somewhat shorter in winter.
