What it's about
On the guided farm walk, families get to know the family-run Obsthof Matthies right on the Elbe, in the heart of the Altes Land.
The tour gives an insight into how fruit growing works in the region and makes a fresh trip into the countryside.
In cold weather during apple blossom season, the farm on Elbdeich in Jork-Borstel uses frost protection sprinklers, which can turn the Altes Land into a glittering ice landscape. Reachable by car or bike via the Elbe ferries.
