What it's about
Families can now pick their own apples at the orchard. Varieties ripe right now include Wellant, Red Prince, Charlotte, Natyra, Braeburn, Finkenwerder Herbstprinz and Topaz. Apples are picked straight from the tree: just let the farm shop know beforehand and off you go.
The farm is open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, including October 3. You can pick until Sunday, November 1. It is a great chance for kids to see where fruit comes from and how many different varieties there are.
Obsthof Lefers in Osterjork is farmed according to Demeter guidelines. After the picking season, the apples remain available in the farm shop. The latest on pick-your-own is also posted on the farm's Instagram and Facebook.
